South 24th Street will again be aglow as part of The Holiday Lights Festival, thanks to a generous donation from the Sherwood Foundation.

This is a wonderful chance to showcase the beauty of South 24th Street, as the lights will draw thousands of people to the area during the holiday season.

Christmas Decor will install lights in the tree planters and on the rooftops along 24th Street.

The lights will be turned on Friday, November 28, at 6:00 p.m. and will stay lit during the evenings until January 4, 2015.

In addition, a celebration will be held at La Plaza de La Raza , 24th & N streets, on December 5,  2014,  at 6:00 p.m.

Mayor Jean Stothert and Councilman Garry Gernandt to officially welcome the South Omaha Lights Festival, preceded by a reception at El Alamo Mexican Restaurant at 4:30 p.m.
